Patient Story: Dorsal Hump Nose with Plunging Tip

Before & After

Our patient story today is about a very cool 19 YO male of Caucasian descent who presented to me with a hump, bulbous tip, crooked nose, as well as a Plunging Tip.  He wanted a more refined nose that did not plunge when he smiled.  He is 6’2” tall so I needed to maintain a masculine nose.

On the day of surgery, he came to the surgery center and was super excited for this surgery.  We took this photo together and I was really happy to be doing the surgery because he was so trusting and gracious throughout the entire process and I knew what this surgery would mean to him.

During surgery, I removed the hump on his nose and corrected the Plunging Tip by rotating the tip while keeping his overall look masculine.  Notice that even though the shape of the nose is improved, he does not have skinny or feminine nose.   Also, the nose is straight!  Twenty-five percent of the rhinoplasties I perform are on males and it is especially challenging to create a natural nose that also demonstrates refinement.

On front view he has a much more symmetric nose with good flash reflexes going down the bridge.  I think he is ready for the runway.

He is shown only 1 month after his surgery.  The patient is happy, and therefore, my whole staff and I are happy.  That is our mission in the office…to make our patients happy.  All of us – Risa, Judy, Christine, Dani, Huan, and myself – are thankful that you have chosen us to be your partners in this journey.

Patient Story: Asymmetric Nose with Plunging Tip

Before & After

Our patient story today is about a very sweet 19-year-old female of Mexican descent who presented to me with an asymmetric nose, as well as a Plunging Tip. She wanted a cuter and more refined nose that did not plunge when she smiled.

Day of Surgery

On the day of surgery, she came with her mom and was super excited for her natural transformation. We took this photo together and I was really happy to be doing the surgery because she was so sweet throughout the entire process and I knew what this surgery would mean to her.

During surgery, I removed the hump on her nose and corrected the Plunging Tip by
rotating the tip. Notice that the tip rotates in front of the nostril; therefore, she does not get an upturned, unnatural nose.   I am an expert on correction of the Plunging Tip deformity, and have written all of the newest scientific articles on the subject. I should tell you that over half of all my patients complain of this when they see me in my office.

Also on her front view she has a much more symmetric nose with good flash reflexes going down the bridge. I like my patients to photograph like they are contoured with make-up in a Versace perfume ad.

She is shown only 1 month after her surgery

I love to take these photos in the office after surgery. The patient is happy, and therefore, I am happy. That is our mission in the office….to make people happy. All of us – Risa, Judy, Christine, Dani, Huan, and myself – are thankful that you have chosen us to be your partners in this journey.
